I expanded Boys & Girls Aid’s digital content by seeking out and writing about topics that grew the organization’s following.
Education meets inspiration
Boys & Girls Aid's audience ranges from the occasional volunteer to someone considering starting their family through adoption. With both audiences in-mind, I worked to create a space where every visitor would feel a strong connection to the organization and feel committed to the work being done. I balanced advocacy-based articles with human interest feature stories.
"Finding the things that bring us together and make us human is far more productive than focusing on the things that make us different."
Many voices for one cause
In addition to developing a consistent voice for Boys & Girls Aid, I curated content from families so their stories in their words would be represented. I worked with mothers, fathers, daughters and sons to capture their own voice around experiences with Boys & Girls Aid.
Building a community
Part of the story selection process as revisiting family story as they progressed. I created the concept of familiar faces as families grew together and children accomplished new experiences and feats.
Stories that matter
Every story is designed to create a sense of purpose and awareness for the reader, the subject and the organization. The blog is designed to be as motivational as it is brand focused.
"Sharing our story had everything to do with sharing hope. For us to solve the negative cycle of foster care, we need a community to believe we can do this together."
